About the pepper

Red Savina is a trademarked cultivar: same species as orange Habanero (Capsicum chinense) but bred for thicker flesh and higher peak Scoville scores.

It held the world record in the late 1990s before ultra-hot landraces from India and the Caribbean blew past the million-SHU line.
